LA noire is ok. it gets old after about 10-15 hours. its a pretty easy plat tho, however i would suggest that you use a walkthrough and get 5 stars on all the missions the first time you play them if your trying to get the plat. I didnt and its the only thing keeping me from getting the plat right now. Due to unbearable boredom, i returned it to blockbuster with only 4 mission sleft to 5 star. I figure i can just rent it again later and plat it…

MemberJUst got back from a Korn show. The first set was all new stuff and was pretty weak, but the second set was all old skool, which was pretty damn good and what i wanted to hear.
Hard to believe they have been around for 20 years now…i remember being around 9 or 10 and hiding the Follow The Leader CD from my parents lol

MemberSo far my GOTY has to be Skyrim, although i have not played BAC or U3 yet, and i will withhold my final decision on GOTY until I do so
Disapointment of the year? Im gonna go with LA Noire. I got bored as hell with it about 10 hours in. WTF if a GTA style sandbox game without the ablity to kill people? IDK why this game go such good reviews it was nothing special IMO. 4 more 5 star cases away from another plat and i can forget i ever rented it

I'd say the high price reflects demand. Everybody and their granny's cat is playing Skyrim so the guide is probably like gold-dust.
The highest priced guide I had to hunt down was the God of War collection. New copies were going for nearly €100 at one stage. I ended up getting a used one from the states for €20.
@J_ad88
I can't imagine I'm sitting on any real gems as most of them were pretty popular. I didn't ever really pick up any niche games or obscure Jap RPGs.
Without going too far off topic, the real rarities I have are in vinyl. I have quite a few really limited pressings where only 200 or 300 were released. It's all extreme metal but after a few years the prices still rise. Most of them are splatter or picture vinyl as well. They're a shite to store properly though… Cardboard edges on sleeves are not a collector's best friend.
i purposly didnt get the guide for skyrim. IDK if anyone here has or tried to use the oblivion guide, but it was hella bad.
And shelfware sucks…lol. i have plastic wrap taped on my shelves

Thanks for the info on the bank card. My mom said she's probably going to take me and set up an account. Now I can finish getting the platinum on some of the games I've played.
Anyways been playing some Uncharted 3 online and single-player and racking up trophies (beat the game twice (second time was for the fun of it)). Now I'm playing Uncharted 3 on crushing and so far it's really easy compared to Hard. Had to take SKYRIM back yesterday but might get it on gamefly. I'm also played a little Portal and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on PC. Portal is fun and a little challenging while BF:BC2 is straight up boring. Haven't beaten COD4 yet because for some reason my save deleted and had to go back on Act 1 of the game all over again.
no worries. gamefly has made me whore some super bad games tho lol.
anyways…been playing hella skyrim still, but im going to try to get that damn LA noire plat here too…figure taking small breaks from skyrim sessions isnt that big of a deal, seeing as how its gonna keep me busy all winter getting that plat lol. lvl 50 ad having 100000 coins in your possesion might take a while
Sorry for being off topic (and asking too many questions) but will gamefly accept debit cards? I looked on their website but all it said was credit card.
ya debit cards work fine lol
Back on topic…so close to the damn LA noire plat…hopefully will have it tomarrow

Playing Skyrim… Working closely with the Thieves Guild just now, getting their rep. back up… And it's easy money
I'm going to try and finish that mission string first, the stealth based rewards are pretty handy… And being able to sell stolen goods is always handy
A fully furnished house in Whiterun, on the lookout for a wife… Played almost 30hours and only cleared about 7 dungeons, only learned 2 shouts and found 4 stones
I havent gotten a wife yet, but i think that it would be in our best intrest to just kill her as soon as the trophy pops.

I forgot to ask, do you ever sell any of your stuff or do you just check the prices to keep on top of value?
Well here recently i was forced to sell a few things because ive had a few stretches this year where ive been unemployed. i sold off the few factory sealed games i had, because fu<k them, i couldnt play them anyways since they were factory sealed. I had a factory sealed copy of Castlevania adventures for the original gameboy that sold for 140 bucks. I used to get a quarterly magazine called Video Game Collecter and i kept it on the back of my toilet to look at the price guide in it every time i sh/t. but they stopped putting it out a few years back so ive had to just browse ebay on the weekly, finding cib games for auction, and just putting them in my watch list to see what they sell for.
as far as your ps1 games go….you never know, you could have some real good stuff in there and not know it. remember the TOMBA games? both sell for over 50 dollars now so ya never know…

Memberjust platted captain america
took 13 hours or so? im not sure i never saw a time. it wasnt to difficult at all. id give it a 2.5 out of 10.
where i expected this game to be super shitty, it actually turned out to be ok, although i assume i would have gotten tired of it rather quickly…

we just had this convesation on a different forum right before you joined lol. anywho…
they will take anything that has 16 digits on it and is plastic. I use the bank card they give you when you open up a checking account. (its free to open an account). after that when you use the card its going to take money from that account. So pending you have access to 15 dollars a month to have in your account, then you dont even need your moms permision.
As long as you have the money then she shouldnt have a problem with it. just tell her you want to open a checking account, and make sure they give you a card (you shouldnt even have to ask for one, when i signed up for my account, they gave me the card, but no checks lol)

I rented Skyrim earlier today. I played it but it was not what I expected. It's a good game but I thought it would have a better narrative or something like that. In my opinion its fun to explore and level up and do quests but was hoping for the story to be refreshing or something (or maybe its me because I haven't been paying attention). But overall I'm going to end up buying it when it drops to $40. Kind of disappointed.
Uh, were you not looking at your TV or something? Skyrim melts face. Period.
Try reading all the awesome books you find with all the information. Im not going to judge the story yet though. Ive been playing for nearly 15 hours and still HAVENT EVEN CHOSEN MY CLASS (not race). So im gonna assume that things even havent really unfolded yet at all. So ill get back to you story.
Should have figured that was going to be a bad rent…i would feel really unfufilled and disapointed if i only had 5 days with my baby
Kill a couple of dragons and get back to me. I have some Skyrim to play lol
I take back what I said about SKYRIM. I must have been tired or something last night when I played it. I popped it back in this morning and started playing again and WOW. I killed one of the dragons and that was really EPIC. To me this is Uncharted 3 level for me. I'm going to pick this game up next month because the holidays are coming. The stories is getting good but it's really straightforward. This game is probably something I'll invest my time in to playing when I buy it. Oh and I only got a day for SKYRIM because I was using my moms credit card at a local redbox and she doesn't want it to keep adding up. Moms always running the EPICNESS
lol you should just get gamefly. ive suggested it to a few people and im not sure if anyone has heeded my advice or not. 2+ years as a memeber and i dont see me self canceling their service asytime soon.
im glad you killed a dragon, that shit is epic.
