Honestly guys, your making it seem a lot harder than it is! I just got the platinum this morning after two full days of playing it!
Whilst trying to get the survivor without vita chambers trophy I was trying to get the tonic collectors trophy. I din't buy a single plasmid, eve or health upgrade or slot until the very end of the game when I realised that I had almost 1700 adam doing nothing! I went through the game using nothing but the electricity and telekinisis plasmids for killing and the incinerate for ice.
The research camera is your best friend like Oz said!!! Both Oz and Shade said some brilliant tips about the game which you should follow. Telekinisis is one of your best friends though, barely costs any eve and you can throw explosive barrels for one hit kills.
Oh, and theres a far easier way to kill Steinman. In the room with the security camera before you get to Steinman make sure you hack the camera. Then hack both the health stations so it poisens him. Then just lure him into the security camera room and let the bots take care of him for you!!!
