i havn't played prototype yet but from what i've heard, it isn't as polished as inFamous. although infamous can have its moments where it annoys the crap outta me!
just got the platinum for infamous and it is still pretty damn hard!
Best way to get the shards i think is to run around the top of the building but to it block by block so you can easily remember which block you have done already. Then when completing this, just go around the edge of each island and you'll get the rest!
