I like that it's called arc. It has a nice ring to it and I think it'll get pretty catchy!
NinjaMidgetMemberi think nolan north probably got paid a bit more, if we take into account that he also did motion capture and was a bit part in directing the scenes and improvising on the spot script changes.
Absolute criminal that he got paid that much! But as has been said, that's Activision for ya!
NinjaMidgetMemberTime to throw my opinion into the mixer! Good is subjective so one man's heaven is another's hell!
Baring this in mind my friends we need to look at this all Objectively. So comparing the graphics between Dante's Inferno and GOW3 is down to the well established conventions of what “looks good”. Some prefer cel-shaded to ultra realistic graphics. I haven't seen any screens for DI so I can't exactly comment. What I can say about GOW3 is that it has the expectation of being very good because more people liked the two prequels than didn't like them. DI has the disadvantage of being a new IP and so has yet to establish itself. But if as you say you prefer the demo of DI to the demo of GOW3, then by all means indulge yourself in that. But I suggest that you wait and see if the game will give you any depth because we can safely assume that being the end of a trilogy, GOW3 is going to give us a roller-coaster of set pieces!
As for Bioshock 2 (which in my opinion is looking set to become another GOTY nominee), I would think it a tad short sighted of you to write it off completely. Bear in mind that one of the many things that made the first game exceptional in the eyes of so many is its' incredible story line! And it looks set to out-do itself, as the developers are commenting that there are more twists than the first, so keep this one in mind!
My third choice for you would be AVP. Putting my trust in reliable internet sites and magazine previews I can again safely assume that this will be another epic show-piece of originality for games. Its' originality coming from the predator and alien story lines. I personally can't wait for the online aspect of this game (and normally I never play online games!!!). So AVP gets my recommendation as your third choice. But again, wait and see reactions from other sources before you purchase unless you are dead certain you want it!
NinjaMidgetMemberBloody hell guys, give the kid a break! With four posts, something tells me he's kind of new to the forums, so give him some time to adjust instead of telling him to bugger off immediately!
I for one support your idea mate, should hopefully be online on Monday!
NinjaMidgetMemberI forgot about Assassin's Creed 2 having a bit of a crap ending. Although I did get a bit bored of the story about half way through so this might explain it.
Yes cliffhangers can be annoying but deep deep down inside you know you love them guys!!! What could they have done instead of GOW2 ending. I think thats the rule for second games of the series or even films for that matter. Give a huge ass cliffhanger even though you didn't know the first one was going to be so popular so you made two more that tie together so “fantastically”. Somewhere in that rant is a contradiction I think! lol
NinjaMidgetMemberI actually loved U2's boss battle, it may not have been realistic, but it made a sense in an unrealistic way!
Worst ending for me was the new Prince of Persia game, I'll not ruin it for anyone, but the words f****NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** waste sprung to mind at the time!!!
NinjaMidgetMemberNinjaMidgetRyan –
Ninja because I've always wanted to be a ninja since I was young!
Midget because I don't really want to take myself to seriously and have a bit of fun with the name (no offence to midgets…sort of)
Ryan because some douche already had NinjaMidget so I used my first name at the end!
NinjaMidgetMemberPs3 Freak is right, always read the books before you see the film, although watching the new sherlock holmes movie no makes me want to read the books! The inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini is amazing (eragon, eldest and brisingr). Didn't really want to watch the film though as I didn't think it would do the books justice!
Usually I finish a series of books but I can't bring myself to finish Darren Shan's demonata series, I think I might have just grown out of his style of writing as I started reading his Vampire saga when I was twelve. But I would recommend those books to anyone!
NinjaMidgetMemberI'm one of those people that come on every now and then if there is an interesting topic going on. But I wouldn't like to see this site go down, its fantastic and there is plenty of help on hand from you helpful peeps! But I agree with the idea of a few moderators. I don't think I'm on enough to qualify for the role, but if peeps are needed I'll come on more and help out!
NinjaMidgetMemberI'd be up for it lads, need to make sure i'm actually getting fifa first, but if and when I do I'll give it a go!
NinjaMidgetMemberMight look into the Arkham asylum one there man, thanks!
NinjaMidgetMemberI have quite a bit of respect for those who read graphic novels, I find that I'm unable to most of the time, but would love to read V for Vendetta and the Batman ones by Alan Moore. Autobiographies still count as books though, and sometimes are for more interesting that quite a few works fiction.
Gow2rules, if you like history, i strongly suggest Ancient Rome by Simon Baker, it's a fantastic chronological account of Rome. and I'm reading one at the minute about King Edward 'Longshanks' which is equally fascinating. Surprisingly 'The Authorised History of MI5' is fantastic and incredibly hard to put down, weird being that its about a 1000 pages long.
If your not much into books but would still like to learn random topics, I strongly suggest the 'Very Short Introduction' series by Oxford University Press. A wonderful series of over a hundred books no more than 150 pages long and about the size of a passport. Topics range from history to philosophy and current affairs and I would reccomend them to anyone!
NinjaMidgetMemberTry reading a good book, if you don't like them, try a graphic novel, I personally reccomend V for Vendetta or some of the batman ones.
What saddens me is that no-one reads books any more. Nothing wrong with a good book! Or maybe I'm just strange compared to everyone else! lol
NinjaMidgetMemberWhilst I don't play SF4, it's still saddening to hear that people are like this online. Fortunately I haven't come across too many annoying people online (I usually play the single player campaign first before I go anywhere near online).
Hopefully you'll get some better opponents next time dood!
NinjaMidgetMemberI hope they keep the online similar to what it was in Killzone 2, it was absolutely brilliant.
I just hope someone finally shuts Rico the hell up in it, he really needs to be put down!
