Membergr8jrfan and I had problems with that subway the first time we went through it. I know on at least one occasion we died when I was so sure neither of us were near a train as it went by. There were a lot of fairly BS instances of insta-death while we were playing, but whatever. There's one in Jake's campaign that I'm sure will kill you several times. And there's definitely one in Chris', although maybe you'll have better luck with that one than we did.

MemberSo this is the best ***NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** game I've played all year. I have no idea why nobody else is playing it. Good graphics/animations, good characters, good story, gameplay that you actually get to play instead of doing QTEs, lots of hours of gameplay, hunting that actually makes the animals somewhat of a threat (unlike AC3), RPG elements with really good gunplay elements as well, decent stealth, you get a ***NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** wingsuit on the second island and can fly whenever you want, and there's dozens of other things that make this game the best thing ever.

Started into RE6 with one of my mates yesterday. We've only played through the first two chapters in Leon's campaign and I'm not sure if I'm convinced yet. A few little things bothering me. Top of the list would have to be the fact that enemies can move during cut-scenes so when control swings back to me I often have an anemy in my face mid-attack…
Leon's campaign starts out very slow. And it's not the best. Jake's is the best. The camera being wrestled away from you is probably the only thing that consistently bugged me. But that game's so over the top and awesome that I don't even care about the small stuff.

MemberNot to mention you only get bronze trophies for it. There's too much time and skill involved just so you can get a bronze.

MemberWhoa, dude, I was just trying to make a bad joke. I still like the series, just not enough to spend $60 on it every year. HD Remakes are different than yearly games in that HD Remakes tend to market themselves as having better graphics and trophy support. So you pay a heavily discounted price and you get a game that delivers 100% on those two promises. Yearly games are marketed as being better than previous titles, but you won't know until you try it. Is Madden 13 better than Madden 12? Is Revelations better than Brotherhood? Is it worth $60 to find out? So I did AC2 and Brotherhood around the same period of time, so when Revelations rolled around, I felt that $60 wasn't worth it to find out if it was $60 better. When it's cheap and I'm in the AC mood, I may pick it up. Some people like Madden and Call of Duty enough that $60 is a worthy expense to play a game that may or may not be better, but the scenery's different. Which I guess is why people buy map packs.
I have been getting upset at the fact that people will buy yearly releases instead of new experiences or heavily improved games or whatever, but I think I've just come to an understanding here and can hopefully start making peace with that fact.
Now the HD Remakes are the exact same game that I played before, but the two differences (marketing aside) are that the game is heavily discounted and it's been 6 years or more since I last played it. At that point, the game's basically all new to me again.
Also, have you played a fair portion of Okami? You're getting mad at me for having not played AC3 and thinking Okami is better, but have you played enough Okami to know that AC3 is better than Okami? I know you haven't played any Zelda games, which at least have a few similarities to Okami. I've played AC2 and Brotherhood, which have core similarities to AC3. It's fine if you want to say a game you've played is better than a game you haven't played, but you can't do that and get mad at me for doing it. Also, if you say that you never said that, you can't get mad at me for that either, because I never said Okami was better than AC3.

I'm on chapter 7 of 15 and my characters are pushing Lvl 40. I need to get at least one to 100 and I think I'll try and do it in my first playthrough so I can just concentrate on blasting through the story in round 2.
You can get your handgun/grenade up to 100 by killing one of the guys in 45-3 over and over again. You probably already passed the arena match that'd let you grind your MGs, but you can do that with 45-3, I assume.

MemberHere's some that haven't been mentioned yet.
LA Noire. I can't believe no one's mentioned that. I can't think of a story that I've liked more.
A couple of decent RPG stories:
Golden Sun 1 & 2
Nier
And these next two perhaps don't have the deepest stories, but the unique way you experience the story makes it more impactful.
Shadow of the Colossus
Asura's Wrath

MemberYeah, but I bet it's something like 1:1 with one person and 4:4 with 4 people. Once someone gets 1,000,000, then the others can take the extra bolts.

MemberI know exactly what you mean, man. I've got a 40gb, so I cleared up 14gb of space. Nope. You need 28, which is dumb. And yeah, scotty's added me already.
By the way, your quote is one of my favorite lines from that awesome game.

MemberHas anyone not played this yet? I've been trying to get a co-op partner to do a fresh run of this game with me. I can find plenty of people who have this game and haven't played it, but none that are willing to actually play it.

MemberYeah, even on Hard Core in Dead Space 2, you could take your time and at least get 3 save points to use at your discretion. And the damage and stuff wasn't even at Zealot difficulty. I don't think I would've ever gotten that if I had to go through Zealot without dying and under time pressure.

MemberYeah, GTA IV should've been a clue that Rockstar hates trophy hunters. Wanted? AWP? 200 pigeons? Pretty much the entire Max Payne 3 trophy list is a test of patience and skill. Only people who completely love that game would attempt to Plat it.

MemberI've got #8, #9, and #11. I'm glad they put Lost Planet 2 in the list. I'm surprised Star Ocean isn't in there though. Getting all the battle trophies in that game is the craziest.

MemberIf they were to ever release cross-game chat as a feature of PS+, I'd drop the money for a year-long subscription the day it got released. They also talked about this feature that would let you do trophy races with your friends and issue challenges and whatnot. That would've gotten me to think about a subscription. There was also this thing about getting exclusive rewards for doing certain things to “level up” your PS+ membership or something weird like that, and I think there were some rewards, but it wasn't fully realized.
I'm more willing to pay for those services more than I'm willing to pay for what they've got on offer now. The discounts are nice, but only if they're discounting a game I already wanted to buy. They had a discount on Closure and Journey, and each time I bought those games, I'd do the process of “Should I get PS+ to get this discount?” But the answer is “No. Of course not.” I don't think I buy enough downloadable games to get my money back through discounts.
Most of the free stuff they offer is just avatars and themes, but since you're only renting those things, basically, they don't factor into the value as much. And I don't remember the last time I saw them offer a game for free that I actually wanted to play. If that ever happened, that would get me my money back fast, since I don't need distant future access to a game I only plan to play once.
Automatic updating seems like more of a convenience than anything. It only saves a little bit of time every now and again. Cloud saving is probably a godsend to some, but it hardly helps me. If I had more than one console, or played on other consoles, it'd be useful, but I don't, so it isn't. It's good for back-ups, but that's not an active help.
The one thing I do really like about PS+ is the full game trials. Those are pretty great for the most part. They have a really big problem that would prevent me from ever using them on my main account though. I like demos because they're risk-free samples of a game. I can play them and not be punished for trying them. With full game trials, they install that damn trophy data onto my local list. It makes no sense to me why you can't get rid of trophies that you haven't even truly earned. You can get rid of 0% lists on the 360. It is a possible thing to do. When they had that free month of PS+, I played a full game trial on my main account and now I'm stuck with that 1% list, while almost every other game is at 100. Since I can't play the full game trials on my second account while keeping the other benefits on my first account without getting two subscriptions, that sours the deal again.
