I'd say it's definitely worth $60. The story isn't that great but the fun factor is through the roof! It's probably the largest sandbox-styled game I've ever played, too. Seriously, you'll never get bored of it. I've played dozens of games since I put JC2 down and I still continuously think about going back to it instead of playing the new games. It's just that good!
With that being said, it has been out for quite a few months and I'm sure it'll be going on sale for rather cheap soon with Black Friday, Christmas and Boxing Day all around the corner. You may want to hold off a month or so because I'm sure it'll drop in price.
tridonMemberJust a friendly bump with some more exciting news!
1 — We've now completed three weeks of auditions and we've found at least half our cast. We're going to be holding a couple more casting call days in hopes of finding the rest of our characters. Apparently there isn't many male actors in this city interested in acting in a film.
2 — We've made “handshake” deals with two artists to include their music in the film. Jean-Paul De Roover is a local musician who's a one-man-band and one helluva talent. He'll be going on a Southern Ontario tour beginning this week so anyone down there should definitely check him out. His Web site is http://www.jeanpaulderoover.com/. The other band is an upcoming metal band from the States, Lost Autumn. They definitely perform some pretty awesome stuff, so be sure to check them out as well at http://www.myspace.com/lostautumn.
3 — Storyboards are going along well. We've decided to postpone shooting the film to May 2011 as it'd be too much of a rush to try and shoot before the quick-approaching winter season. This is perfect though because now we can take our time to set up a high-quality film that'll not be overlooked come festival time.
4 — We're still looking for donations at http://www.indiegogo.com/QUIVER. We're now offering perks such as DVD and Blu-ray pre-orders, collectible swag, chances to appear in our next film or have a character named after you, producer credits and the opportunity to travel with one of us to festival. Every little dollar helps so if possible, please give us a hand. Your name will appear in the credits of the film for only $1!
Thanks everyone! I'll update soon!

tridonMemberI'll be picking this up today as long as Blockbuster gets them in stock. I have enough credit to pick it up for free there. My girlfriend and I have been waiting for close to two years for EyePet and EA Active 2.0 will be good for us since we hate exercising in public in a gym. I'm also looking forward to The Fight: Lights Out and Sorcery, and I may give it a swing in Resident Evil 5. Other than that, though, that's about all I'll use it for. It will NEVER come close to replacing good ol' “sittin' on my @$$ with a controller in my hand” gaming with me.

I have never played Ico or Shadow Of The Collossus, are these games as good as everyone says and what makes them good?
Excluding the Metal Gear games, Team ICO's projects were the best games on the PS2. Beautiful to look at, large in scale and completely challenging and innovative to play. Pure classics.

Apparently the Collection will have the ending that was only released in Europe. I had no idea there was different endings. Looks like I'll be owning two copies! Oh, well… both games are worth the double dip! 😀

I would get excited but i mentioned this on another thread like 2 days ago…
Well this was just officially announced last night so I thought I'd post up the link. It's been unofficially revealed for a couple days now but nothing was yet confirmed.

timesplitters collection!!!!!!!!! make it happen sony
Didn't Timesplitters have a bunch of different publishers but the same developer all the way through? I think the developers broke apart to join/create new companies, too. Sorry to break it to you man, but I really doubt you'll ever see Timesplitters again.
September 15, 2010 at 3:18 pm in reply to: DEVIL MAY CRY being relaunched in new series by Capcom & Ninja Theory! #66536tridonMemberPersonally, I have mixed feelings about this. I don't think Devil May Cry needed a relaunch. All it really needed was a good solid boost from a grade-A developer. If there's any Capcom franchise in need of a relaunch, it's Resident Evil. That game doesn't even feature zombies anymore.
To me, the first Devil May Cry was an amazing action game. It was tons of fun with a great story and awesome lead characters in Dante and Trish. The second game was one of my most anticipated sequels ever and it ended up being a huge pile of crap. The third game was WAY too difficult for me to even enjoy, and the fourth game, while being my favourite since the original, annoyed me to death because of the character Nero.
I'm happy that a new title is coming and that Ninja Theory is at the helm (even though I'm still majorly on the fence with Enslaved), but I can't help thinking that the essence of what made Dante so cool in the first place may be lost in this relaunch. I will say this, though; Ninja Theory is at the near-top of the industry when it comes to voice acting and motion capturing, so I'm feeling pretty reassured when it comes to that.

Thanks, Finchy! Love the new alias, BTW! I'm going to have Tenacious D in my head for a while now. Hey… where's young Nasty Man? LOL.
Well, I guess that'll only be funny for you if you know what I'm talking about. Thanks again!

Thank you, bud! I really don't care if it's only for $1. That's $1 more than I had before, right? But yeah… thank you! Be sure to keep your eyes out for your name in the credits when it's released! 😀
tridonMemberPlease help us fund QUIVER by making a donation via IndieGoGo!
$1 gets your name in the credits! Other perks now include DVD and Blu-ray pre-orders, Swag Bags and more!!!

To anyone that helps me out with this, thank you for your support! 🙂
tridonMemberWith God of War already re-released and ICO and Shadow of the Colossus on the way, this is all that's really left that I'd love to see remade…
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Zone of the Enders
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (I'd also like a ZoE3)
Beyond Good & Evil (I'd also like a BG&E2)
R4: Ridge Racer Type-4 (I'd also like a RR8)
Red Faction
Red Faction II (I'd also like a proper RFIII, none of this third-person crap)

Thanks, man. I'm not getting my hopes up, but since I've had 100% positive reviews on the script, it'd be nice if the film could get accepted into several film festivals. All it takes is the right person to see it, right? If the weather can hold up here long enough to complete the shoot, everything should be peachy (but insanely hectic) from here on out!
Thanks, dude! I appreciate all the support and word of mouth, so really, thank you! 🙂
tridonMemberJust a few very exciting updates…
1 — We just had a promoter sign on! He read the script, and he loved it. He compared it to the campy horror flicks of the '80s and said that he wants to promote it. He even went as far as to compare it to The Evil Dead!
2 —Â I have now had eleven different people read the script and if this was Rotten Tomatoes, I'd have a 100% right now. More than half the readers are people that I don't know, so this is definitely good news as we go into filming!
3 — We had a good show-up last week for our two evenings of auditions. We currently have three set for this week (one being tonight) and a huge list of attendees.
4 — Our local radio station made an announcement regarding Quiver last week and that made me quite ecstatic.
5 — Our Facebook fan page has boosted up to 104 fans.
6 — Our ad on Kijiji has had over 1200 hits and we now have people worldwide writing in interested in taking part in the film.
That's it for now! Lots of good, happy news for yours truly!
