tridonMember@ Quivakas… I mean Parnakas!
Thanks for the support, man! I was pretty happy about the title, too. I actually created the entire film around the title alone. That was my muse. I knew I wanted to make this a creature feature and I knew it was going to be called Quiver. That's all I had and I ran with it. So far I've had nothing but positive reviews for the script (a perfect nine for nine so far), so I must've did something right!
I never really had an inspiration, no. Obviously ticks are disgusting and nobody actually likes them, and I knew I wanted some kind of mutated insect in this, so I just went with that. I suppose while I wrote those, my inspiration was to make a fun, psychological, sure-to-be-cult-hit horror film like the ones from the '80s. I love The Evil Dead and old flicks like that, so that's what really lead me to my man- versus-creature-in-the-wilderness premise.
Thanks a lot for the support! I'll definitely keep you updated. Once filming is complete, I'm sure one of the first things we edited together will be a trailer, so I'll give the link to that here when it's ready!
tridonMemberThanks for sharing that link, Parnakas. Some donations would really help because these things are NOT cheap to make at all. Also, I'll keep you updated on whenever DVDs and Blu-rays are available. I think we might even be making a limited run of HD-DVDs for the hardcore fans out there.
As far as Paranormal Activity goes, we're really hoping it gets enough word of mouth like that film did. We'll be entering Quiver into the same film festival where PA was noticed, so you never know. I personally liked PA, though. In fact, if you go through the credits slowly at the end, you'll see my name in there. Bought the Blu-ray just to see my name is high definition. LOL.
tridonMemberI have to also say that I love every level in Metal Gear Solid 4. My absolute favourite in that game would probably have to be the level where you return to Shadow Moses, though. Seeing all those MGS1 environments in HD had me ridiculously giddy. A close second would be the final level where you fight Liquid Ocelot for the final time. That battle was EPIC!!!
tridonMemberAlso… I'm not necessarily asking any of you for a donation (unless you'd like to, of course), but if you know anyone else who'd like to help invest in a horror film, please feel free to share this link:

This is not going to be a cheap project, and ALL help is extremly appreciated! Also, the more you put in, the more perks you receive! 🙂
tridonMemberYeah, exactly! Ticks are little a-holes! In this flick, they're a-holes who will seriously F you up! LOL.
Thanks a lot for joining and following along. We plan to be 100% finished the film next spring with screenings beginning around here and at multiple festivals. I'm sure by the fall of 2011, we'll have DVDs and Blu-rays out.
tridonMemberThanks a lot, guys. I really appreciate it!
@ GHOST305
The ticks are mutated from a chemical explosion, so they grow in size and they grow hungrier. Plus, ticks are creepy all by themself. It's something that burrows itself into your flesh. Tell me that's not gross. 🙂

Sounds cool! But not worth it for me. I just want the game. The only edition I feel for was that damn CODMW2 Prestige BS! Never again for me.
I bought the Hardened Edition of that game and after ultimately being disappointed with game, I sold it and lost money on it. MW2 wasn't nearly as amazing as the original MW.
It's not often that I actually dish out the cash for CE's and LE's anymore. I bought the CE for God of War III last and I was HUGELY disappointed. The Pandora's Box was cheap piece of crap, and all you received with it besides that and the game was a bunch of DLC. I ended up keeping the game and DLC and selling the box for $70 on eBay. Not too shabby. I ended up getting my game and DLC for $30 if you think about it.
The only ones in my collection now are Metal Gear Solid 4 (because Snake and Kojima are gods), Stranglehold (for the Blu-ray copy of Hard Boiled) and Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe (I've always been a sucker for MK special editions). I recently bought two more because I got them for good deals. I picked up the Resistance 2 CE for $19.99 and Aliens Vs. Predator for $30.00 (I had to get that facehugger, and that steelbook is just sexy).
I pre-ordered the LittleBigPlanet 2 CE because of the Sackboy stuffie (my girlfriend is ecstatic for that) and the sweet bookends. That's really all I have and/or want for CE's/LE's at the moment. I'm sure I'll get a few more next year, though. If the new Mortal Kombat has one, I'll definitely buy it. I'll also pick up CE's of Metal Gear Solid: Rising and The Last Guardian is they're available. That's it, really.
I AM tempted to buy this just to re-sell it for double the price, though. Like I said, it'll most likely be a good investment. Just look at the Dead Space and Mirror's Edge CE's that were exclusive to the EA site. I think I saw the Dead Space one going for over $300 on eBay a couple months ago. That's NUCKING FUTS!!!
tridonMemberWow… what should you buy with $350 at Gamestop, eh? That's a toughy. There's so many games coming out!
So I thought long and hard about it, and I think you should do one of the following two things with your money:
1) Pre-order five copies of The Last Guardian.
2) Save the money so you can buy Parnakas five copies of the inevitable Justin Bieber video game.
tridonMemberYeah, knowing Castlevania's history of making people crazy with anger, I'm thinking I may want to rent it first. I suppose I'm also leaning more towards Dead Rising 2. Hopefully it's not too boring. I'll have to pre-order it so I can get the sweet-ass ninja costume. Actually… how is Capcom with selling pre-order incentives? I know that sometimes, when EB gives a piece of DLC away as an incentive, the publisher of the game will release it via PSN a few weeks later for $3 or whatever. Capcom do that much? If so, maybe I'll just use my Blockbuster credit towards this.
tridonMemberJust to let everyone know, the two games I'm leaning towards right now are Dead Rising 2 and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. They both look sweet, but then I'm also unsure whether I'll like them because I've never played the first Dead Rising or any of the Castlevania games in years. Dead Rising 2 seems like it will be a lot of fun, but it also seems like it may get boring after a while. With Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, knowing that Hideo Kojima overlooked the project really makes me excited, but then I've also played through all three God of War games and Dante's Inferno this year, so a change in pace may be nice.
So, between those two games, which would you choose?

Oh and if it seems like I just made an account I haven't I just haven't felt the need to post anything except for now. I thought I'd help out parnakas
Well thank you
Oh so you actually pre-ordered it? Damn. Every gamestop/retailer around me says no pre-orders, its not available yet. UGH!!
I guess this is one of those instances where our infamous “CANADA FTW” chant can get shoved straight up someone's pooper, eh? We ALWAYS get shafted when it comes to collectibles and incentives!
tridonMember@ parnakas
Thank you, kind sir. Oh, and what's your beef with Justina Bieber? She's hot, man! When she finally develops into the full-blown woman she wants to be, she'll make all the boys go wild!
tridonMemberThe following is an accurate example of how a wrestling match between U2 and MW2 would go down:
Nathan Drake and Soap MacTavish stand across from each other. The bell rings! Soap charges at Nate with fists swinging, but Nate goes down low and tackles Soap to the ground.
On top of Soap, Nathan begins to hammer-fist down into Soap's face. Stunned, Soap resorts to an unexpected defense mechanism; he pushes a button on his pants and on the giant screen above the entrance aisle, a smiling picture of Bobby Kotick appears.
Nate sees it and falls off of Soap, quivering in fear. While shaking on the ground, Soap begins to kick Nate in the ribs. Soap grabs Nate by his beautifully-styled hair and raises him up from the ground.
Nate stands in pain in front of Soap. Soap grins and then POWERBOMBS Nate to the ground. Nate lays out cold. Soap covers Nate.
The ref counts; 1… 2… WHAT'S THIS?!
Soap gets off Nate when he sees Elena Fisher standing on the side of the squared-circle. Soap smiles and walks over to Elena to check her out. While his back is turned, Nate wakes and stands up from the ground.
Nate comes up behind Soap and grabs him by the shoulder. Soap turns around stunned as he receives a head-butt from Nate. The crowd goes wild! While Soap is dizzy, Nate gives him the Thieve-Buster (a variation of the Rock Bottom, of course).
Nate, still in pain, crawls towards Soap and covers him.
The ref counts; 1… 2…
Oh, no! WHAT'S THIS NOW?! Solid Snake is in the ring with a chair and he's pulverizing both Nate and Soap with it!
The ref calls a disqualification and the bells begins to consistantly ring!
Elena goes to get into the ring, but she's pulled back down by Meryl Silverburgh and bitch-slapped!
With both Nate and Soap unconscious at his feet, Snake grabs a microphone to speak to the crowd;
“You all know who I am! I've been around from the '80s, I've eaten snakes, I've hooked up with ladies and I'm the clone of the baddest-ass of them all! I AM SOLID SNAKE — AND I AM NUMBER #1!”
The crowd goes nuts!!!
“Uncharted… Call of Duty… you can suck it. Metal Gear Solid will always be best… and I don't even have trophies!”
With that, Snake exits the ring to the sound of a cheering crowd and both Meryl and Elena in arms.
Hope you enjoyed. This has been a presentation by Tridon.
