Also is your unlimited PS3/Blu-Ray BB account worth it, say in comparison to something like gamefly? I ask because I’m from Canada and have an account with gameaccess (the Canadian equivalent to gamefly). It costs $120 for a 6 month subscription in which the household is entitled to 2 games out at once with no limit on how many times you swap the games. While it’s an excellent service, cutting out the mailing time by switching to BB would be awesome.
For Blockbuster here in the US, its $21.99+tax for unlimited games & movies…only 1 out at a time. But its a mile from home & right beside my bus stop so its instant & easy. Some weekends I am in there 4 times…get a Blu-ray for Friday night, Saturday AM get a game, Saturday night get a movie, then I may take the movie back late and get either the same game I played in the AM or a different one…I will play it late Saturday night and it gives me something to play on Sunday….I am only in the store for a minute as they only scan the one I bring back and scan the new one and I am out of there…don’t need a card, wallet, or wait in line or anything….in and out in 60 seconds….
This is just what I have been doing for 6 months now…I bought games for 20 years and for the past 5 I would resell them on eBay (maybe just lose $20 or so on a game)…but now, for $20, I can get “All-we-can-Eat” movies & games for the wife & I.
GAMEFLY – I just finished a 1-month trial w/them. For $22.95 + tax /month, but you have to wait a week for the mail and there are no movies…..for me, Blockbuster is a no-brainer for now…
I got the membership only after buying 5 games that I ended up not liking & having to eBay them for a $20 loss. That was when I knew there had to be a better way for me to feed my addiction w/o spending all my $$$.
Games that I rented & took back in a DAY because they either weren’t for me OR I just got them to play like a quick DEMO…..: Fallout 3, Deadspace (shocker I know), NBA, MLB, X Blades, Sonic, Street Fighter, Skate, TC Endwar, Midnight Club, Blitz, Mirrors Edge, Snowboarding, TC Hawx….These would of cost me a fortune to BUY & RESELL…..I basically got to play them on all on my $21.99 Blockbuster membership.

I went and scoped out my local Blockbuster.. here it’s $29.99/month unlimited with one game out. Which is still ok I guess… except when I took a look at the game selection! My local Blockbuster is lacking in the PS3 gaming department. There were literally maybe 25 unique titles spread out onto half of 3 shelves. The rest of the shelves were plagued by 360 games -_-
Oh well. For now I’ll stick with gameaccess I guess. Although I’m jealous that you are in and out of the store with new content in 60 seconds. That’s awesome!
As for your second post I’m not shocked that you took back Deadspace.. I played the demo and it wasn’t really for me either… I clearly missed what all the hype was about? As for X-Blades… how horrible was that game? I put it on my game rental list despite the atrocious reviews…figured I’d give it a shot. I’m curious though, how’s the gameplay and everything? If you say it sucks I’ll likely reconsider and boot it off the list… I don’t have the benefit of quickly switching games – it takes 4 days for a game to arrive – soo I need to be more selective. or something like that and start shot and throwing ganases at the cars or shot it with a rocket at the cars i did it in bohon by where u drop stevenys cars off the places by the basitball court

I’m just glad some people agree with me, most people have become possessed with trophies and you can always tell which one’s they are because whenever they are in conflict on here they always bring up their collection even though it usually ain’t that impressive.
