I know “boostin” is the new standard in “skill” but i just wondered if anyone really plays honestly anymore. If true gamers are really playing then how do you get alot of points in a little time w/o boostin?
i know i average between 50 – 100 points a round. but only have time for a few “long” games or a bunch of “too quick” deathmatches. So i suck. i have most of the point + medals so i know points are there to make. and for the top 1% you have to keep your score high enuff to not take a 2000 place dive come any given saturday.
The top player for the week only rocks team deathmatches. and ive seen many score 400+ points in long scenarios.
Any suggestions besides the inevitable “PRACTICE” & “BOOSTING” would be great.
and just to get this off my chest but the easy way to track killzone rank % is this:
go to statistics…go to ranking…go to weekly rank…
now look at the page numbers. the total amount of pages is the top 10%
Take the last digit off and the resulting number becomes the top 1%
Take another digit off and the resulting number becomes the page you would turn to see whats the top 1% points.example
Page 1/12345
12345 is the top 10% of total people being that there is 10 player ranks per page
1234 is the top 1%
123 is the page you would find rank 1234 showing u their points.Hope this helps

July 19, 2009 at 11:45 pm #30941BdamacMemberhes talking about killzone 2
July 19, 2009 at 11:49 pm #30943HypnosisMemberhe talking about Killzone 2. Even if you boost I dont think you will make enough points to get into the top 1%. Only way to do that is to play at least every day during the week. When it comes to Killzone 2 you are taking a risk of haveing your stats wiped or being banned if they catch you boosting,so if you like the game i wount recomend boosting. if you are after trophies i can tell you, they all can be done without boosting. I have done it and I know a few others who have done it without boosting. The abdolute best way to get alot of points is to earn all your badges so no matter what game you are plaing and what mode, you are earning max points.
July 19, 2009 at 11:50 pm #30944PS3 TrophiesKeymasterThere's no trick to it, if you want the 1% then you simply have to put some effort into it. And once you start putting some effort into playing you'll also start generating more points per round. I wouldn't stick to just playing deathmatches though, it gets boring after a while. In for example capture & hold and search & destroy you get alot of points by killing people in the marked areas and it'll also give you mission points.

July 20, 2009 at 12:43 am #30953BdamacMemberand make sure to play long games 15 to 30 mins and make sure your connection is good are youll get kick out of a good game alot if happen to me too many times
July 20, 2009 at 12:54 am #30956ThickbrowMemberahhhh follow the green arrows. 🙂 gotcha.
I got this one by 'boosting' with a friend to get the medals and ribbons. We were booted from about 5 games or so. I couldn't imagine the amount of playing you would have to do without boosting.
caution: I got sick of the game after getting this trophy and traded the game in. Didn't even bother getting platinum.
This one will get harder with the less people that play. So get this asap.
July 20, 2009 at 12:56 am #30957Ratchet525MemberCan't you get ban from KZ2 for boosting now?
July 20, 2009 at 1:30 am #30963KoolassjoeMemberSweet. Yes u can get banned 4 boosting. the point of this thread is to see what diversity of tactics i might find. Like play the sniper here or types of clans and such.
I agree deathmatches get boring quickly. It is also true that you attain more points in certain situations.
So far all i can think of is headshot everyone and use every class.
July 20, 2009 at 6:33 am #31004Log801Memberget the good conduct badge i think it is and you should be able to get 3 points per deathmatch killl. I reccommend that you just play deathmatch once you earn this badge. thats really the only way to get a lot of points in a match. if you’re trying to get the top 1% of players make sure you change your nationality/country to something less well known. DO NOT HAVE YOUR country on japan/china or america it will be very hard to get it this way. a french friend of mine got the trophy for only pplaying 8 hours in one day so maybe france would be a place to start?

I dont think your region matters. the leaderboards are worldwide, they dont have seperate leaderboards for different countries as far as I know. That wouldnt make any sense. Depending on when your friend got it, he either got it by mistake when it was glitched and lots and lots and lots of poeple got it unearned or he is lieng about only playing 8 hours. Getting in the top 1% isnt as hard as everyone makes it out to be. Just pick a week you want to try for it and just play a little bit everyday and have all your badges earned like I said, and you should be able to do it. I was able to get it and i dont have very much time to play at all, with me being a father and having lots of other real life things to do.
July 20, 2009 at 8:16 pm #31105KoolassjoeMemberI agree. I dont really think where you are matters. And im a father too. Its hard to concentrate on a life and a trophy at the same time. thats y i started this thread. i end up playing for a bit before i fall asleep.
